Welcome to the Hale Report. My name is Lyric Hughes Hale, and I am Editor-in-Chief of EconVue and your host today, Wednesday, May 26th, 2021. At EconVue, based in Chicago, you will find independent voices and expert analysis of global economic issues. If you’d like to subscribe to our free monthly newsletter, please visit our website, and if you can, support us on Patreon or Substack.
My guest today is Dan Breznitz, speaking with us from Toronto, and our topic is innovation. Dan is professor of Innovation Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and of Political Science at the University of Toronto. He is Co-Director of the Innovation Policy Lab which I hope to discuss with him today.
Today we will discuss his prescient observations a decade ago, and what he thinks about China today, as well as his newest book. Don’t expect to hear what you have heard about innovation before. Dan has an entirely different approach.
