👥 Upcoming Panel: Asia-Pacific Elections (Jul 30, 2025)
What's next for the global economy?
A Tour d’Horizon
Elections across Asia Pacific are over—but what comes next?
This panel explores the economic implications of pivotal elections across the Asia-Pacific region. From Japan’s rightward shift to India’s contested mandate, Taiwan’s failed recall efforts, and Australia’s status quo government, our experts analyze what political transitions mean for regional stability, trade, investment, and US strategy.
The panel features econVue contributors Marsha Vande Berg and Saliya Weerakoon who shared their insights on the Indian general election in May, along with regular contributors econVue fellow Eleanor Shiori Hughes (Japan & Australia) and Chicago economist Karim Pakravan. Eric Huang will discuss the recent victory for the KMT in Taiwan. Rick Katz will share his views on the Japanese election results. (See panelist bios below.)
Introductory remarks by our speakers will be recorded, but the Q&A session will be off the record.
